PIONEER ASSAY BAR SHOOTOUT
As chronicled in earlier issues of The E-Sylum, a brawl has been brewing over the authenticity of many western assay bars. According to an article in the July 19th issue of COIN
WORLD, a "debate" tentatively scheduled for the ANA Numismatic Theatre is sure to draw plenty of spectators.
Theodore V. Buttrey and Michael Hodder "will be allotted 30 minutes to explain their positions. Each will be allowed 10 minutes for rebuttal of the other's arguments. A one-hour question-and-answer period is planned after the speakers have finished debating." Although high noon would be a more appropriate starting time, the event is scheduled for 9:30 am August 12th. Spectators will be asked to check their six-shooters at the door…
