HARDBOUND PRESENTATION ASYLUM INDEX GIVEN TO COMPILER BILL MALKMUS
Bill Malkmus has performed an invaluable service to the
Numismatic Bibliomania Society and numismatic research in general by
compiling the 25-year index to our print publication, The Asylum.
The NBS Board awarded Bill with a specially bound deluxe edition of the
index, which appeared recently as a special issue. Five regular cloth
copies fetched a total of $2000 at the fundraising auction at our annual
meeting in Baltimore. -Editor

I received the specially bound presentation copy of the
Asylum 25-Volume Index today. It made quite a regal gift and was a major
surprise! The Harcourt Bindery did a great job from the impressive hard
cover to the beautiful marbled endpapers. It reminded me of Forrest
Daniel's article, "Paper Marbling in Numismatics." (This certainly is the
best example of marbled paper that I own.)
