George Cuhaj forwarded this information about an interesting set of prints he produced as a fundraiser for the American Numismatic Association library. -Editor The ANA library has received a set of 30 reprints made from seven of the original halftone letterpress cuts from Victor Brenner's 1910 privately published work The Art of the Medal. One illustration shows Brenner standing sculpting a bas-relief at an easel, two show him working at his engraver's bench, and another of him operating a large screw press. The other illustrations include two Janvier machines and a die/hub view. The images are generally 6x6 or 7x8, and are printed with wide margins on coated stock. There may be (read this as will) some ink setoff on the backs.
The group of 7 reprints were made in an edition of 30, as a donation to the ANA Library Fund by George Cuhaj and printed on an old letterpress in Waupaca Wisconsin. (See George at the press and other photos on his Facebook page - George Cuhaj)
E-Sylum readers can purchase a set by sending an 80.00 check made out to ANA, and mail it to Ryann Scott, ANA Librarian, 818 N. Cascade Ave. Colorado Springs, Colorado, 80903.
