QUERY: IS FLORESCENT LIGHTING HARMFUL TO BOOKS?

Mike Niebruegge writes:

My understanding is that florescent lighting is bad for books, so I have always been careful to use incandescent lighting in my library. As you know, the government is phasing out the sale of incandescent light bulbs. Are readers concerned about this, or is my information about florescent lighting incorrect?

Good question - I'm not sure. I have several compact fluorescents in my library now. What do readers know about this? -Editor
