I just heard from Sam Ellenport at the Harcourt Bindery that Allan Grace passed away quite suddenly. His wife Maureen had called Sam to ask him to complete any work they had unfinished
Allan Grace was a talented bookbinder who became known in the U.S. numismatic world through bibliophile Armand Champa. I met Allan at "The Invasion of Louisville". Armand had found Allan in England and encouraged him to make a move to the U.S. Many of the books in Armand's numismatic library had been bound (or rebound) by Allan.
Charlie furnished the image below of Allan and his wife Maureen taken about 1988.
Can any E-Sylum readers provide more information on Alan Grace and his work?
