Regarding the small monthly publication "The Numismatic Journal", produced by L.S. Drowne of North Adams, MA. How many issues were produced in total?
I just ran across issues 1 through 5, produced August through December 1877. It was stated to be at least a 12-issue publication to subscribers. Are all these (or more) known?
Well, there is at least one more issue known. Remy Bourne's American Numismatic Periodicals 1860-1960 lists six numbers, Volume 1, No. 1-6. The last issue listed is from January 1878. Bourne states that the total issue is unknown, but it is "believed to have been published for one year in 12 nos."
Can anyone provide more information on this little periodical?
