Based on dealers', mints' and central Banks' news mails, ultra-modern numismatist Pabitra Saha reports on the latest coin
designs. Here are some that caught my eye this week. -Editor
Vatican City 5 Euro
The Pope is showing up everywhere these days, so where better than on a new Vatican coin? -Editor
Netherlands 2 Euro Coin on the European Union Flag
I guess one could appreciate the simplicity of the design, but the human figures are too abstract for my taste - these are little beyond
stick figures. -Editor
Ukraine Coin on Kyiv-Mohyla Academy
A more classic design. The three figures and building on the obverse are a little much for one coin, but it seems to work. I like it.

Ukraine Coin on Ivan Karpenko-Karyi
Interesting design incorporating puppetry and the theatre. Unusual theme - I don't recall ever seeing a coin featuring puppets. Could
anyone send us images of coins or medals with that theme for next week's issue? -Editor
Here are some designs I came across elsewhere. -Editor
2015 Austrian Euro Coins
2 cent, 50 cent, One Euro coins
Nice, simple designs. I like these, too. -Editor
