1787 Ordinance for the Establishment of the Mint of the United States

1787 Ordinance for the Establishment of the Mint (FINANCE.) Issue of the [America]n Museum featuring the United States Mint ordinance. [105]-207, [1] pages. 8vo, disbound; printing error has caused the title to print incompletely, minor foxing and wear; uncut. Philadelphia: Mathew Carey, August 1787 Estimate $500 - 750 This issue features early printings of the Northwest Ordinance (pages 188-192), "An Ordinance for the Establishment of the Mint of the United States" (pages 182-184), and more.

Contemporary printings of laws relating to the mint and coinage of the United States are rare and important. Sure, the text might be found online, but an original document from the time is as collectible as the coins and currency described. Coming five years before the Mint Act of 1792, it would be interesting to see how this differs. -Editor
