Phil Mernick of London passed along this unusual item which just sold on eBay - a ladle with an early U.S. coin embedded in it. It looks like a 1796 quarter. But is it real? -Editor

Twisted handle with metal finial.
White metal ladle bowl and stem.
Inset to ladle is a Liberty USA coin dated 1796
