Obverse: The Aloha State / August 21, 1959 / (map of Hawaiian Islands with compass and sailfish breeching) / Hawaii 50th State. Reverse: State of Hawaii / Ua.Mau.Ke.Ea.O. Ka. Aina. I.Ka.Pono / 1959 / (seal of Hawaii). Gorgeous high relief historical medal. The Hawaiian State Motto on the reverse translates to: The life of the land is perpetuated in righteousness.
