UPDATE FROM DAVE HIRT

NBS Secretary-Treasurer Dave Hirt sends his regards to all.
He recently returned from a visit to Budapest. He picked up
a few new coins, but no literature this trip.

MORE KOLBE SALE RESULTS

Dave also reports receiving a letter from a gentleman in Ireland.
After purchasing a complete set of the first fifteen volumes
(1980-1997) of The Asylum in the Kolbe December 15, 1998
sale (lot #844, $275) he wrote to inquire about membership and
purchasing the back issues from Vol 16 (1998).

NBS WEB SITE UPDATE

There haven't been many updates to the society's web page in
a while, but there are a number of things going on behind the
scenes that we'll report in future issues. One new feature:
Larry Mitchell has started to compile a numismatic bibliography
to flesh out the slim listings currently on the web site. Thanks
   for pitching in, Larry!

RESEARCH QUESTION: J. L. RIDDELL

NBS Member Brad Karoleff asks: "Does anyone know if the
J.L. Riddell who wrote the "Monograph of the Silver Dollar Good
and Bad" is the same J.L. Riddell that was the postmaster of the
Confederacy? - Your help would be appreciated."
Brad can be reached at Karoleffs4@aol.com
