The E-Sylum: Volume 7, Number 12, March 21, 2004, Article 16 NUMISMATOLOGY HANDLE Paul DiMarzio offers a comment in response to David Fanning's note on the word "numismatology" in our previous issue. He writes: "I would agree that this word is not well known. Consider this: when I was looking for an e-Bay handle that somehow expressed the numismatic spirit, virtually every word that I could think of containing "numis" was taken. But numismatology was available! The dictionary definition that I found was "The science which treats of coins and medals, in their relation to history; numismatics." [His note was signed "Paul DiMarzio, numismatology on e-Bay :-)" -Editor] Wayne Homren, Editor The Numismatic Bibliomania Society is a non-profit organization promoting numismatic literature.
