The E-Sylum: Volume 7, Number 44, October 31, 2004, Article 15 MORE ON LEO MILDENBERG Rick Witschonke writes: "Dave Kellog's note in response to your request for recollections of Dr. Leo Mildenberg reminds me that I also attended Leo's talk in Boston. I subsequently had the opportunity to sit next to Leo at an ANS-sponsered dinner that evening, and I asked him about the "eye" for great style in an ancient coin. He allowed that it was a rather rare gift. When I pressed him as to who he thought had the gift, he singled out Sylvia Hurter (his assistant and eventual successor as the head of the Numismatic Department at Bank Leu), and Bruce McNall (former head of Numismatic Fine Arts, and sometime prison inmate; I recommend his recent autobiography)."
