The E-Sylum: Volume 9, Number 22, May 28, 2006, Article 19 ON FOREVER STAMPS Philip Mernick writes: "Having just read v9n20 a bit late it seems to me that the "for ever" stamps are very similar in concept to the UK first and second class stamps we have had for many years. They have no stated value and can be used without augmentation even when the rate goes up. For this reason when a price hike is announced it is done with very little advance notice to prevent people stocking up at the old rate! The UK stamps can also be used to make up any value either by multiples, combinations of first and second class or with normal stamps showing a value."
