The E-Sylum: Volume 9, Number 23, June 4, 2006, Article 9 QUERY: BEST WOOD FOR LIBRARY SHELVING? Ed Perkin writes: "A while back there was much discussion on what everybody thought was the ideal home library. It was very interesting. My question is similiar in that nature yet still different. I plan on building my own shelves for my home library and am curious to know two things. First, is there a type of wood that is better for library shelves? I do not like metal and besides, working with metal is quite difficult and frankly I do not really know how to do it. The second is, what type of wood do others favor?"
