The E-Sylum: Volume 9, Number 23, June 4, 2006, Article 29 CORRECTION: CHINESE PENALTY FOR COIN DEFACEMENT Regarding last week's item on the penalties for coin melting in Taiwan, Ken Berger writes: "Doesn't "... not over one year but less than seven years" just mean less than one year?" Bob Lyall caught this as well. He writes: "I somehow think the penalty for defacing coin in China is not likely to be "not over 1 year or less than 7"!! A lot of negatives, but I suspect a typo for between 1 and 7 years." [Many thanks to our sharp-eyed readers for all of their corrections. -Editor] Wayne Homren, Editor The Numismatic Bibliomania Society is a non-profit organization promoting numismatic literature.
