The E-Sylum: Volume 10, Number 5, February 4, 2007, Article 33 FORMER MINT DIRECTOR JAY JOHNSON HEADS TO FRANKLIN MINT "Former Green Bay TV news anchor Jay Johnson, who served one term in Congress in the late 1990s, has been named chief numismatist of the Franklin Mint, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported today. "The Pennsylvania-based Franklin Mint is a private company that sells collectibles that include commemorative coins. "Johnson, who is in his early 60s, was director of the U.S. Mint, the federal agency that makes and sells the nation's coins, from May 2000 to mid-2001. He was appointed to the job by former President Clinton."
