The E-Sylum: Volume 10, Number 25, June 24, 2007, Article 13 MORE ON ANTI-COUNTERFEITING TOOLS Regarding the items in last week's issue relating to anti-counterfeiting tools and techniques, Joe Boling writes: "I have a Spuriscope. It depends on the relationship of face check letters to the position of the note on the sheet and the concomitant serial number that is printed on the note in that position. It no longer works, as the required correlations no longer exist. "Regarding security features in Japanese notes, they may be pushing only the watermark for the general public, but the notes are loaded with security features, including: microprinting, iridescent and luminescent inks, two kinds of latent image, a second watermark, and a hologram on the two high-denomination notes."
