The E-Sylum: Volume 10, Number 50, December 9, 2007, Article 16 ANA SEEKS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR The American Numismatic Association has formally opened its search for its next Executive Director. Below are excerpts from the ANA's December 7th Press Release. "The American Numismatic Association is accepting applications for a new executive director to replace Acting Executive Director Kenneth Hallenbeck, who will step down once a replacement has been named. "... the executive director must have extensive knowledge of management skills with the ability to initiate, implement and successfully complete programs and objectives; train and motivate people, coordinate activities, speak publicly, and deal effectively with the public, private groups and community organizations. "Candidates must have considerable knowledge of and interest in the subject matter dealt with by the ANA or a similar hobby field. Applicants must be able to communicate effectively with the membership, understand and implement the ANA mission and objectives, and be able to convey that understanding and implementation to the Board of Governors, staff members, the members and others outside the numismatic field. "The minimum criteria is five years experience in managing a business, organization or nonprofit association, including staff supervision, financial reporting and strategic planning. The selected candidate must be willing to relocate to Colorado Springs, and be able to work on weekends and evenings."
