The E-Sylum: Volume 11, Number 6, February 10, 2008, Article 21 QUERY: WHO NAMED THE EURO? Paul Horner writes: "I have a question that perhaps a reader of The E-Sylum can answer: Who named the 'Euro' and when? No, I don't have the answer. But I would like to know!" [Great question! The event wasn't so long ago that the answer would be lost in the mists of time, yet it doesn't seem to be easily found on the Internet. One source I found says the name 'euro' was chosen the European Council in Madrid in 1995, but doesn't elaborate on who first proposed the name. Can anyone shed light on this topic? -Editor Full Story ] Wayne Homren, Editor The Numismatic Bibliomania Society is a non-profit organization promoting numismatic literature.
