Howard Berlin has been traveling through Canada, and he sent us an email postcard. -Editor.
Howard writes:
This is the Royal Canadian Mint. Actually they have another mint in Winnipeg that makes the coins for spending. This facility makes coins for a number of foreign countries,
commemorative issues, and the gold bullion coins. In their "gift" shop (no free samples) they have on display a 28-pound solid gold .9999 pure bar which you can pick up--it's got a
chain attached to it and a guard with a gun standing right by it in case you got any ideas to walk away with it. A similar 13-kg bar is on display in the Bank of England Museum in London.
