QUERY: SIX-POINTED STAR STAMP ON U.S. PAPER MONEYMy Mom, God bless her, gave me a card with money for my
birthday Sunday. Since I turned 50, she included a $50 bill. I told her I
can't wait until I'm 100. Anyway, I noticed something unusual about it. In
the lower right corner of the front of the note is a small inkstamp of a
six-pointed star. On closer examination, it appears to have a script
letter "M" inside. Has anyone else encountered this stamp? Any idea who made it or why? -Editor Wayne Homren, Editor The Numismatic Bibliomania Society is a non-profit organization promoting numismatic literature. See our web site at coinbooks.org.
