THOUGHTS ON THE 1876 CENTENNIAL C.A.G.E MEDAL MYSTERYMarc C. Ricard writes:Could C.A.G.E. simply stand for "Centennial Art Gallery
Exhibitor"? The building depicted is the Memorial Hall that housed the Art
Gallery of the exhibition. Could this be a participation or appreciation
medal presented to the artists whose work was displayed? I have not yet
been able to find out if a medal was given to the artists, but I will
research further. Wayne Homren, Editor The Numismatic Bibliomania Society is a non-profit organization promoting numismatic literature. See our web site at coinbooks.org.
