PHOTO ASSISTANCE NEEDED FOR WHITMAN'S U.S. PAPER MONEY ENCYCLOPEDIADave Bowers and Whitman Publishing have been working for
some time on The Whitman Encyclopedia of United States Paper Money.
The E-Sylum community has an opportunity to help bring this project to
completion. Below author Dave Bowers lists a number of items he needs
images of for the book. -Editor From the publisher: The Whitman Encyclopedia of United States Paper Money is
a comprehensive study from Continental Currency to modern-day notes. Dave
Bowers has been working with experts throughout the field to update old
research, scrutinize long-established "facts" of conventional wisdom,
gather print-quantity data never before compiled in one major source, and
provide market values, including in multiple Uncirculated grades. The book
isn't just a technical guide for specialists and a market guide for
collectors and dealers; it also captures the romance and history of U.S.
paper money as only Q. David Bowers can. Dave Bowers writes: Here is my want list for pictures needed for the new
Whitman Encyclopedia of United States Paper Money. Proofs are fine
for rarities, etc., and in some instances are the only form
available. This list has a lot of esoterica among the higher denominations, but there are quite a few 20th century small-size I can use. Need color scans 400 dpi to 1200 dpi. Can receive at my private e-mail at qdbarchive@metrocast.net if no more than 2MB per transmission (separate transmissions are fine), or on a CD (will reimburse postage): Dave Bowers, Box 539, Wolfeboro Falls, NH 03896. Dave's list turned out to be too lengthy for publication
here in The E-Sylum. If you think you might be able to help, contact Dave
or me by email and we'll forward the list. Wayne Homren, Editor The Numismatic Bibliomania Society is a non-profit organization promoting numismatic literature.
