MORE ON THE MOST EXPENSIVE (NEW) NUMISMATIC BOOK

Regarding Len Augsburger's question about the most expensive numismatic book (at issue price), Tom Wetter writes:
I would cast a vote for Dave Bowers epic A California Gold Rush History Deluxe Edition. Only 400 copies were made, it included a gold sample, and supposedly cost over $1,000 to make. It was only made available to purchasers of 'significant' ingots from the SS Central America wreck.

Auction results have sold it as accompaniments with ingots for over $80,000 (Heritage 7/04, Lot 8787) and on the secondary market for just over $3,850 (Stack's 5/08, Lot 4011). However, it was never offered publicly for sale, which may disqualify it from this contest!
