Last week Dick Johnson forwarded a list of upcoming events in celebration of the bicentennial of Abraham Lincoln's birth. Fred Reed writes:I beg to differ with the list you published from my
friend Dick Johnson regarding upcoming Lincoln commemorations. Dick's list
is substantially the same as listed on Wikipedia (not known for its
accuracy)
At any rate, the entry "Other tributes slated for the next two years include: A redesigned 2009 penny series and five dollar bill." which also appears on Wikipedia IS WRONG - there won't be another new $5 bill. The redesigned $5 bill was released March 13, 2008

Oops! Sorry I let that one slip. Lately I've been getting
behind in answering my email, and E-Sylum submissions have been piling up.
Some weeks it's been a mad dash to pull the issue together on Sunday
evening. Bu that's why we have sharp readers like Fred to keep us in line.
