Dick Johnson submitted this item about the return of a stolen 1,000 year old penny. -Editor The Malmesbury Abbey in England has an 1042 Edward The Confessor silver penny back in its possession. It was stolen last June but police learned of the man who stole it from an anonymous tip from someone who heard the thief bragging he took it. At the Abbey they learned the thief leaned on the case where it had been displayed creating a half-inch opening, enough to withdraw the coin.
