Tim Shuck writes: A recent episode of Ghost Whisperer (a program that follows the path of a young woman who sees, talks to, and helps earthbound spirits (the dead) 'go into the light') featured a segment about a dead numismatist. The poor fellow contacted the Ghost Whisperer (named Melinda) because he had died in an accident while using a moving truck, and a rare 1943 copper cent was lost in the confusion.
After Melinda found the coin and returned it to the rightful heir, the departed numismatist's spirit was free to move on.
I found it interesting that this particular coin was part of the story. It's well-known to collectors but probably not so with the general public; this makes me think there must be a collector on the writing staff.
