Len Augsburger writes: To follow-up on Dick Johnson's note on the Burd library, I would highly encourage any researchers in the Chicago area to make an appointment with Bill to spend a few hours browsing his stacks. While there are certainly many rare and choice items in the library what really impressed me were the multitude of association items, things that are not necessarily expensive but unique or nearly so. These are the sure signs that much effort has been expended in the formation of the library. Bill's library is conveniently located close to the expressway on the south side of the city. He is constantly adding to it, and I think an annual trip is probably in order!
