Boepple writes: Joe Boling's comment enticed me to give my two cents' worth (what came immediately to my mind when I read the first contribution): There may be pros and cons in the question of repairing coins, but "expertly repaired" is definitely a plus for any book that is not in the Guttenberg bible sphere. In my coins, I look at the surface, in my numismatic books, at the content!
