Dick Hanscom submitted this question about the U.S. Mint's Capt. Biddle medal. Can anyone help? I found the below image on the web.
I think I saw the Congressional website while I was researching the Jarvis et. al. medal for my newsletter a month or so ago.
Back in the 70s or early 80s, I purchased from the U.S. Mint a medal for Capt. Biddle for capture of the British ship Penguin off the island of Tristan da Cunha.
My question is this: When did the mint stop selling these medals or are they still available?
