Can you tell me anything about this coin? I know it was given to guests at the Vatican for some special affair. The Lorioli silver mark is just under the 1980 at about nine o'clock. The case is original.
From the lettering I can read, this looks like a commemorative about the foreign travels of Pope John Paul II. I know nothing else. Any experts in Papal coins out there? Any idea of the mintage? I also suggested checking the company web site, www.lorioli.com. The site has an online database of Italian medal designers and another section lists for sale several books on Italian medals.
