COPYRIGHTS AND A HISTORY OF THE CANADIAN DOLLAR

Serge Pelletier writes:

A History of the Canadian Dollar is available for free download In English at www.bankofcanada.ca/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/dollar_book.pdf

Joe Boling writes:

Image Protected by Copyright Yes, you can download PART of the book on the history of the Canadian dollar. Starting at page 57 (about 1949, chronologically), ten of twenty-six illustrations are labeled "Image protected by copyright." And they also omit the captions, so you don't even know what has been deleted. Nice try, Bank of Canada. At least they did not expunge their own banknotes (which are also copyrighted).

Island of St John 10 Shillings

It's a nice book despite the copyright shortcomings, an otherwise well-illustrated historical survey of Canada's money. -Editor
