I attach some pages from a Canadian coin guide bought at a local coin club this week.
It dates from 1959/60 and gives their buying prices. My question is could these prices have been realistic at that time?
They seem very low – Pine Tree sixpence 5 dollars!
Well, it is a BUYING guide. I'd love to buy at those prices, too. But are they reasonable prices for 1959? The “Blue Book” (A Handbook of U.S. Coins) is the standard compilation of typical buying prices. I no longer have copies of older Blue Books handy, but it would be interesting to see how these prices map.
