In the August 2013 issue of The Alaskan Token Collector and Polar Numismatist, editor Dick Hanscom illustrates a rare Fairbanks Alaska Postal Savings Note.

$5 Postal Savings System note issued at Fairbanks, Alaska. A small hoard of
these Series of 1939 notes from the Fairbanks appear to be the only ones from
Alaska to have survived. Primarily black and green, with a pink underprint.
“Not Negotiable, Not Transferable,” Fairbanks and serial number in red, date
stamps sort of purple. Size not reported.
Offered on eBay as a buy it now for $6,000.
The issue also includes a nice account of Dick's journey to the Miners Picnic in Central, Alaska on August 3rd.
