Thanks to Coin Update for the link to this excellent new video from the U.S. Mint on the Code Talkers series of medals. It's a mini-documentary showing the complete process of designing and making medals, from a law's passage in Congress through planning and design review, sculpting and refining designs, to the final striking and awarding of the medals. The program was a huge challenge for the Mint, and couldn't have been tackled without modern technology. Shown in operation are 3D computer drawing programs and 3D scanners used at various points in the process.
