ANSWER: MORGAN DOLLAR PRINTING BLOCK

Last week we asked if anyone could tell us what this Morgan dollar item was. It was submitted by web site visitor Heather of Parkersburg, WV. I wondered if it might be a mold to make counterfeits with. -Editor

Morgan dollar mold obverse John Kraljevich writes:

That Morgan dollar thing is a printing block. I suspect it would make a pretty cool impression if it was inked up!

That makes sense to me. It does seem flat. Either way, it's a neat association item for the Morgan collector. It would be very interesting to pair it up with a copy of the publication it was originally used in. -Editor
