For many years the Salvation Army has been finding gold coins in their kettles (if memory serves, Harlan Berk in Chicago has handled a few of
these). There is a macabre twist this year.  A set of gold teeth took a bite out of needed donations this year for the
LaPorte Salvation Army.
 The gold teeth, crowns and a gold bridge given to a bell ringer helped the LaPorte Salvation Army shatter its previous Christmas kettle drive
