As noted in earlier E-Sylum issues, The Emperor's Bridge Campaign is lobbying to name the San Francisco-Oakland Bay
Bridge for Emperor Norton, the San Francisco eccentric whose rare scrip notes are collected by numismatists. The group stages events to raise funds
or bring attention to their cause. At an event planned for February 3, 2015, a party for the Emperor's 197th birthday will be held. -Editor
From their Campaign Note No. 8 published Thursday January 15, 2015:
For the final hour or so of the event, we'll be screening two rarely seen television episodes — a 1956 episode of Death Valley Days and
a 1966 episode of Bonanza — that interpret the story of Emperor Norton.
I found the episodes on YouTube. Check 'em out! I enjoyed Norton's entrance on Bonanza, when he has Ben Cartwright
take his cape and makes himself comfortable in Ben's favorite chair. Sam Jaffe was wonderful in this role. -Editor
