QUERY: GEORGE SHARPE GOOD-FOR TOKEN

George Sharpe Good-For token obverse George Sharpe Good-For token reverse

I came across an unusual good-for token offered by Steve Hayden on eBay. He gives a possible attribution to Cripple Creek, Colorado. What does this frog mean? I read it as “You’ll have to croak.” Is it an undertaker token? I also like the “Next Door to Jail” location. You don't see that every day. I didn't find any George Sharpe tokens in tokencatalog.com. -Editor

I asked Eric Schena for an opinion. He writes:

I actually read it as "You'll have to hop next door to jail" as one sentence with George Sharpe in the center. I would I believe it's a saloon token - 12 1/2¢ was a common denomination for saloon pieces.
