I would like to know who bought lot #1668 Chapman Auction June 20-24, 1882. This was the Bushnell Collection. I have a price of 15
cents but no name. Maybe someone in E-Sylum land will have an answer for me.
The Newman Numismatic Portal can help with questions like these. While its collection of 19th century auction catalogs is still being
fleshed out, there are quite a number of catalogs already available and many are named. Below is the entry for lot #1668 as seen in the
portal's Internet Archive document collection. The sale includes handwritten buyer's names. -Editor
This one looks like "Young". The question now becomes, "Who was Young"? Len Augsburger notes that the Chapman client
book (c. 1904) lists three Youngs. -Editor
So, which Young is it? Can anyone assist? -Editor
