Fans of the late British rock star David Bowie are petitioning to have his face put on a U.K. banknote. -Editor
David Bowie fans are calling on the UK Government to honour the late star on an official banknote.
Bowie died on Sunday (January 10) at the age of 69, with reports suggesting that he had been suffering from liver cancer for 18
months.
Following his death, tributes have flooded in from political figures such as David Cameron and Jeremy Corbyn, with Cameron tweeting:
"I grew up listening to and watching the pop genius David Bowie. He was a master of re-invention, who kept getting it right. A huge
loss".
Now a petition has been launched with the aim of getting Bowie's face on the new £20 note, with over 12,000 fans backing the cause.
A new £20 banknote is set to be launched in the Spring with no decision as to who will appear on the note currently announced. Economist
Adam Smith appears on the current £20 note.
When I read that they wanted to put Bowie's face on a banknote I immediately asked myself, "Which One?" Which face that, is
