QUERY: VICTORIAN HALF PENNIES ENCASED IN IRONJulia Purdy writes: I have my own mystery encased coins (photos attached). I'd like to ask the E-Sylum readership if anyone has any ideas about them. There are Victorian bronze half pennies and are encased in iron. I picked them up on eBay separately a few months apart from 2 different UK sellers. I came across them as I was mulling over the encased half dimes and couldn't resist purchasing them. 
Interesting. Can anyone help? Perhaps our British readers may recognise these. -Editor
