David Klinger forwarded this article about the Mint's plans for a Numismatic Coin Forum next month. Thanks. -Editor
The U.S. Mint has announced that it will hold a Numismatic Coin Forum in Philadelphia on Thursday, October 13. The one-day conference
aims to prepare for the Mint’s upcoming 225th anniversary by bringing together various members of “stakeholder” organizations to discuss
the past, present, and future of numismatics.
A press release notes that U.S. Mint Principal Deputy Director Rhett Jeppson said of the upcoming forum, “It seems only appropriate
that, while we as a bureau are celebrating our history, the Mint is also looking for ways to improve the way we engage our customers and
invigorate our relevance into the future.”
While the event is not open to the public, individuals can request admission via email at USMintNumismaticForum@usmint.treas.gov; the
deadline for consideration is September 15, 2016. Formal presentations offered during this forum will be posted online soon afterward. For
more information on the Mint’s requirements for admission requests, please visit its Web site.
