Owen Linzmayer announced the availability of the latest chapter of The Banknote Book, an extensive study of the notes of the Philippines. -Editor
I'm pleased to announce the Philippines chapter is now available for individual sale at US$9.99, and as a free download to subscribers.
This is another huge chapter, weighing in at a whopping 87 pages, just behind Germany (91 pages), and China (96 pages), which took the lead with this week's addition of coverage of the Agricultural and Industrial Bank
of China.
The Philippines chapter should have a lot of cross-over appeal as it covers notes issued under the Spanish more than 170 years ago, as well as during the US administration in the 20th century, with notes oddly similar to
United States issues. Also covered are the World War II issues, and the bewildering array of modern circulating notes and commemoratives.
