I have just been informed about the death of Holland Wallace. Holland worked for me at Whitman Publishing Company in Racine for 13 or 14 years and was a highly skilled and
detailed numismatist. I clearly remember him on one occasion learning how to read Russian so that he could catalog a section of one of the Whitman books and be sure of his
original research. He was always equally thorough with all of his writings and analysis of numismatic items.
Holland was a quiet person, probably not very well known among the numismatic community, but a giant when it came to the special knowledge he imparted through his writings. He
will forever be remembered by me for his dedication to the hobby and his kind and caring friendship.
