The purpose of the Waterloo Coin Society (WCS), which was founded in 1959, is to encourage and promote the collection and study of coins, tokens, paper money, medals, badges, trade money, and other currency related collectibles; to cultivate fraternal relations among collectors; to encourage and assist new collectors, with special consideration to Junior Members; and to acquire and dispense numismatic knowledge.

The WCS is based in the heart of South Western Ontario and meets year-round on the second Tuesday of every month at 7:30 p.m.
