GUNTER W. KIENAST (1923-2017)
Greg Burns writes:
I was putting on my shoes this morning (these days accompanied by much grunting) in preparation for going out, driving up the mountains, and maybe taking some photos. Resting
from this effort, I was gazing around the office at the library shelves and was musing about my Kienast books and started to think more about Gunter and wondering what was up with
him. I’d done obituary searches before, but this time found he passed in 2017 (maybe you already knew this). Gunter, of course, wrote the definitive works (two) on Karl Goetz and
his medals. Gunter was 94 at his passing.
No, we hadn't gotten the word - sorry to hear that. Here's the notice from the Lincoln Journal Star of Lincoln, NE, published October 29, 2017. -Editor
