(GENERAL JOHN GLOVER) (1732-1797). American Patriot Military Leader from Marblehead, Massachusetts who served as Colonel of the 14th Continental Regiment of Marbleheaders and directed the creation of the first US Naval Fleet, commonly called Washington's Schooners by converting existing vessels into Privateers or Warships. Saved Washington's army in October of 1776, evacuating by boat Washington and 9,000 Continental soldiers from Manhattan to Brooklyn. As Brigadier General in the Continental Army under Major General George Washington during the American Revolutionary War. (Estimated Value: $3,000 - $4,000)
