When his coin collection was sold by David Akers it brought millions of dollars. I had the pleasure of serving with John Jay in 1995 on the ANA Board. He took me under his wing and taught me how to navigate politically in numismatics. He was a friend to me and a serious numismatist. He is one of the great personalities I have had the opportunity to have known in this wonderful hobby."
